3D Outcomes Development: Final Touches

After creating all the separate parts of the six jewellery pieces, it is finally time to assemble them all and finish them.

I started by gluing the flower leaves together and petals using UV resin and snipping off excess wire.

I then painted the leaves using nail polish and a small brush before assembling the leaves and petals together using more UV resin. I used excess wire to create stamen.

I drilled holes in the petals that needed attaching to chains using a dremel tool.

I added resin anthers to the mountain laurel and painted them red.

I then started on the hairpin, using a thick wire for the base with thinner wire weaved around to keep everything in place.

I added an extra branch using a smaller size wire to create more variety. I used the wire twisting technique for this.

I added the leaves using the same technique that I used for the brooch. I did not add leaves to every branch, since that would be troublesome when using the hairpin.

I felt that with the hairpin, I had gotten used to the different techniques that I learned over the course of this project. This helped me to create faster and make decisions based on looks before starting, instead of taking pieces apart during.
