2D Design Drawings
This post will contain the finished drawings for the four outcomes that I have designed. I have used Procreate and my iPad to create these drawings. The process videos can be found at the end of this post.
My canvas size is A3, which is a custom size I had created for my previous project. I selected this size by pressing the 'Plus' icon in the top right menu. Whenever I needed a new layer, I pressed the squares in the top right menu and pressed the 'Plus' icon.
For every piece, I created the base colour first and then blocked in the basic shadows to indicate where the light is coming from and to make it look less flat. I used a texture brush for every step, since my project revolves around textures and shapes. I did the shading on a separate layer with the 'Clipping Mask' setting enabled to the shape layer, so my brush strokes would within the outline of the shape. This is done by creating a layer above the shape layer, pressing on it and selecting 'Clipping Mask' in the menu that pops up on the left to the layer. An arrow towards the layer underneath it will indicate that it is a clipping mask layer. In the same menu, I pressed 'Combine Down' to create a group of all the layers that were related to the subject. You can also simply drag the layers into the group by dragging them on top of each other.
On the same clipping mask layer I created the textures using the same custom texture brush and changing the size and opacity by dragging the top and bottom bars up and down in the menu to the right.
I used the same processes to add details to the pieces, such as lighting, small textures and reflective shadows.
Since every aspect of the work is on a separate layer, it is easy for me to change things around. For example, if I need to remove the background.
I have learned a lot about drawing different textures through making these designs, which is something that will be useful for future works. Even if these are not mushroom related.

Good that you have worked on your 2D outcomes - looking forward to seeing how you are going to design your portfolio for your 2D and 3D designs
