Software Choices: Practice with Photoshop
This week I will be practicing with creating a presentation board for a gallery in Wix to display my final portfolio in.
I started with opening Photoshop 2023.
I made a logo using freelogodesign.org, which I will be using for the coming terms. I downloaded it as a PNG so it would work in Photoshop. I opened it in Photoshop by clicking 'File' and 'Open' in the top menu. When it opened, I chose 'Select' in the top menu and clicked 'All', I then clicked on 'Edit' and 'Copy'. On my concept board canvas I clicked on 'Edit' and 'Paste'. I moved my logo using the 'Move' tool and dragging it to the top right corner. I changed the size of my logo by clicking 'Edit' and 'Transform', in the transform menu I chose 'Scale', this allowed me to drag the corners of the selection to resize my logo.
I opened my concept sketches, which were saved as PNG, by using 'File' and 'Open' and used the 'Object Selection' tool to select one of the sketches. I used 'Edit' and 'Copy' to copy the selection and chose 'Edit' and 'Paste' in my concept board canvas to paste the selection onto my canvas. I used the 'Edit' and 'Transform' and 'Scale' process to resize my sketch and moved it by using the 'Move' tool.
I then added text by using the 'Text' tool to write out my concept. I chose the font 'Sylfaen' and changed the font size to 24pt by using the top menu. When I was satisfied with my text, I clicked on 'File', chose 'Export' and then 'Quick export as PNG' to save the board to my device. I saved my file as a 'PSD' as well, so it saves the layers and I can edit it at a later time if I want to. I did this by clicking 'File' and 'Save as'. My finished concept board mock-up now looks like this.
Update:
I replaced the initial design sketch with a better quality finished and coloured sketch.
Good you have completed this with some good technical detail well done
