Project Progress: Sketches
With the inspiration that I had gained from my recent artist research I decided to make some more design sketches to help me design the last piece of my mug collection.
I made a design for a cup with a lid, forming a redcap mushroom when the lid is on. The hourglass base makes it more comfortable to hold despite the smooth surface. I tried to steer away from the idea that my mugs need to be functional and designed a cup based on Enoki mushrooms. The bases of the mushrooms would form a rounded base for the cup with the tops forming the rim of the cup.
After my venture into Aylestone Meadows, I made sketches using the information that I had found and tried to add some details in the form of mushrooms to stay on theme. I added moss and leaves and kept the bark texture uneven and the forms included dents as well.
I made a variety of sketches based on pictures from an encyclopedia of mushrooms. I made a sketch of anything that could resemble a cup or mug. Making these designs gave me ideas for certain textures that I could use, especially that of the Cauliflower fungi.

Good that you have sketches looking forward to final 2D outcomes for portfolio
