Major Product Design Project: Design Sketches in Procreate
This week I started on the first sketches on the designs for the lamps for my product design project. I used Procreate on my iPad to draw my sketches.
I created a new canvas by pressing the 'Plus' icon in the top right menu and chose 'Screen Size' for my canvas size in the dialog box. When I needed a new layer I pressed the icon of the two squares and pressed the plus icon to create a new layer.
I used my custom sketching pencil brush and round brush to sketch and colour the designs and worked on separate layers for colour and line. I grouped the layers of the designs together to keep the layer section organised. To group layers together, hold your pencil on the first layer you want to group and drag it over the second layer you want to group. As soon as a group is created, I tapped the group with my pencil and chose 'Combine Down' from the menu that showed up so all the layers under the group would be added to my group. My layer section now looked like this.
I exported my work by tapping the wrench icon and selecting 'Share'. Under 'Share Image' I chose PNG, this opened a menu in which I chose 'Save Image' so it would save to my device.
Update:

Good start on initial sketches and now you need to develop these into more technical designs
